Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) — The Bluegrass Church of Christ, teaming with Kroger, held it’s mobile food market on Saturday.

The event began at 12 p.m.

The church has been hosting this event for the past couple of months.

The goal is to help provide groceries to people in the area, who may have a hard time getting to the stores themselves. And for those who can’t make it to the mobile market, volunteers will shop for them and bring them their groceries.

Bob Smart, an elder from the church, says events like this are important for the community.

“Because being a Christian church we want to provide the love and opportunity and inclusiveness for everybody,” said Smart. “And we want to be apart of their community.”

Smart says he is glad they have this opportunity to be of service to the community, because that’s what it’s all about.

The event wrapped up at 2:30 p.m.
