Officers with the Lexington Police Department are investigating two shootings that happened within the span of an hour late Saturday night and early Sunday morning that left one man in critical condition, and another injured.

According to Lt. Joe Anderson, police received a call of shots fired around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday at Breckenridge Street and Shropshire Avenue. A short time later, a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound and was determined to be connected to the shooting.

His injuries were not life-threatening, Anderson said.

Less than an hour later, officers received another call of shots fired at the 1300 block of Alexandria Drive, Anderson said. When officers arrived, a man was found suffering a life-threatening gunshot wound and taken to a nearby hospital.

Both investigations are active, and as of Sunday morning police are not releasing suspect information in either case.
