Richmond, Ky. (WTVQ) — Eastern Kentucky University held their fall commencement on Saturday.

The fall commencement was held in the Baptist Health Arena at Alumni Coliseum. EKU held two ceremonies to honor graduates from the university’s six academic colleges.

The first ceremony was held at 9 a.m. and the second was held at 1:30 p.m.

According to EKU, the university had 1,313 graduates this semester.

Those graduates received 134 certificates, 46 associate degrees, 866 bachelor’s degrees, 246 master’s degrees, 3 post-master’s certificates and 18 doctoral degrees.

Student speaker Bradley Lackey spoke about his journey at EKU and the opportunities he was awarded during his time as a student.

“If I can offer you one piece of advice today, it would be to never over look an opportunity,” said Lackey. “None of us know what the future holds. But one thing I do know is that as long as we continue to take calculated risks, go out of comfort zones, and yes take advantage of opportunities, there is no limit to what we can accomplish in life.”

A livestream of the ceremonies was available on EKU’s website for those who were not able to attend.
