A section of North Broadway is closed Wednesday morning after an earlier accident, according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center.

Police have the popular roadway shut down between Fourth and Fifth streets while crews repair a utility pole that was knocked down in a collision earlier in the morning, according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center.

At 7:15 a.m. Wednesday the traffic management center said Kentucky Utilities was progressing with the repairs but the road is expected to be closed for “several hours.”

Inbound traffic is being diverted onto Fifth Street and outbound traffic is being diverted onto Fourth Street, the traffic management center said.

The driver involved in the accident was uninjured, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner.
